Binge eating episodes are associated with a number of different situations, often referred to as triggers. If you eat until you feel so full you are uncomfortable or if you eat large amounts when you are not actually physically hungry. Perhaps you eat faster than you ought to or you eat alone through embarrassment or feel depressed and guilty when you have eaten. If you carry out any of these things then you have a problem and should look to try to reshape your habits to combat it.

Binge eating comes about due to distress with certain situations in ones life. There are all sorts of possible causes but you’ll likely have a good handle on what your personal ones are. It can then lead to serious physical problems and particularly heart conditions if not treated properly due to significant weight gain and a poor diet.

Often its a vicious cycle whereby people are depressed in their lives so they binge eat, which in turn makes them feel even worse. They begin to feel worse in themselves and look worse physically through weight gain and illness, which in turn causes further depression and comfort eating.

Yo overcome it you need to take things one day at a time and to get down to the roots of the problem. Often sufferers associate the idea of failing diets as being worse that their current problems and so never stick with it. However, find the right diet and the right support is fundamental if one is to move on from the condition.

Seek counselling from professionals who can help you get over your depression and also look to family members and support groups to lend that helping hand at home. Keep trying until you find a method that works for you.
