Using Mobile Massage Equipment For Your Massage Business

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

If you are a massage therapist without a permanent work place, then you might consider getting mobile massage equipment for your massage business.

It can really be exhausting when you constantly engage yourself with mobile appointments.  A lot of uncontrollable factors can affect the massage.  However, with organization and the right equipment specially designed for “mobile therapists”, you can utilize these as a tool to make each massage appointment a success.

You will encounter clients who love having massages at their homes.  That then requires bringing over all your equipment.  Carting your massage equipment from one place to another can stress out your body over time.

The answer to your problem?  Use Mobile Massage Equipment!

Having the right mobile massage equipment for your massage business can ease off the stress on your body.  This would also make transporting your equipment a piece of cake.  Check out these for your mobile massage sessions:

o A rolling table cart.  This is the most practical equipment for your mobile massage session.  The cart eases off the weight that your body feels and saves your energy for the actual massage session.  No matter how portable or lightweight a table is, the longer you carry it, the heavier it feels.
o High quality massage table bag.  A thick padded shoulder bag promotes comfort and reduces the strain that your body feels.  The extra padding placed at the bottom will protect your table from nicks and bumps.  This item allows you to keep all your supplies in just one bag.
o Lightweight aluminum massage table.  Compared to wood, aluminum is lighter.  An aluminum massage table is perfect for mobile massage so that you would not have a hard time hauling your table.  For mobile therapists, this equipment really comes in handy.

Make a checklist for the equipments you need to bring over to prevent instances where you have to go back and forth from your clients locations to your place just because you forgot your oil or towel.  Storing your mobile massage equipment in one place is the best thing to do so that when you receive a call, you’re ready to go.

Mobile massage equipment is ideal not only for your massage business but also to you as a mobile therapist as well.

Your Massage Business And The Benefits Of Professional Branding

Friday, September 17th, 2010

We are all familiar with the concept of branding.  Branding meaning the company logo and format of the design used for all marketing including the website, business cards and stationary.  But how does this concept of branding work for your massage business?

Branding is not a concept that remains confined to the bigger or global companies.  No matter how big or small a company is, a branding strategy is something all companies can adopt.

The benefit of branding is that it puts across a professional image.  It shows consistency in your thinking and your message when your branding is consistent.

Branding can do a lot more however as it gives your massage business the opportunity to send out a message through your branding and your logo.   Through your branding you are sending out a message to the world something about your massage business

Hopefully you are sending out a positive message.  All logos and symbols give out a particular energy.  Logos can do the job of attracting us or repelling us.  Using a logo gives your massage business the opportunity to attract more clients.

We are all aware that attractive logos attract while unpleasing logos repel.  Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder but we can refer to this from a general context.

As a massage business owner you want to be sure that your branding is sending out all the right messages.

First, you want to actually have branding.  You want to have your own logo for your company.

This logo should be used for all your marketing material.  Your website, your business cards, your stationary, your pamphlet advertising and your business signs at your premises.  Wherever your business name is displayed in a marketing context you want your logo to be there.

Secondly you want your branding to be consistent.  You don’t want one logo for your website and a different logo for your massage business cards.  Using different logos sends out mixed messages, incoherency and unprofessionalism.  Whereas consistency gives a professional image for your massage business.

The use of professional branding gives your massage business a professional image which can only be a good thing for the growth and success for your massage business.

Massage Business Success And Online Opportunities

Massage business owners are all aware of the importance of growing their business.  Business growth can be obtained by a number of different ways.  And it doesn’t have to be only by finding and obtaining new massage clients.

A massage business can be powerfully leveraged by harnessing the power of the internet.  And using the internet means there is a myriad of opportunities waiting for you to be harvested working on the online world.

For a massage business this could involve a number of avenues.

Many massage therapists are knowledgeable enough to produce their own content.  Content such as downloadable videos and podcasts or ebooks.

There could be techniques, skills and insights that you would like to share with others.  Or perhaps you would like to teach all you have learned as a massage therapist gleaned from your years of learning and experience.

Teaching is another avenue on the online world and can be done in many formats.  You could try a small one to one mentoring type of approach.  Or widening the scope you could offer webinars and present a series of topics or courses.

A webinar is a presentation that is given online over the internet.  It usually works with the presenter preparing a presentation it and presenting it through in live time online while everyone has dialed in.  A bit like old school conference calls but being able to view the presentation online and everyone dials into a particular number or connects over the internet with the company that hosts the conferencing.  Questions can also be received in live time for answering by the presenter if they arise.

Webinars have become a very popular way to give presentation over the internet nowadays and is extremely convenient for working across different geographic locations.

The internet really does provide a myriad of opportunities for those massage therapists looking to expand their massage business.  Think about which direction you would like to take to cultivate business growth and massage business success.

Massage Business Success And Attitude

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Hopefully it will come as no surprise to you that attitude is everything in life.  Hopefully we have an awareness of this concept as massage therapists.

For massage business success is your attitude set in the right direction?  Do you have a positive attitude?  If you’re saying no - why not?  What is it going to take to change your attitude to one that is positive and supports your outcome for a successful massage business?

There are many times in life where events have a tendency to respond not so happily or positively.  Of course this is natural.  We all receive our share of painful events and moments in life.  Yet your reality will be shaped by the way you perceive the events in your life and the meaning you give them.

For example if a massage business owner receives a negative comment regarding their website or marketing some may fret and become all anxious and decide the entire website needs changing or amending.  All from one negative comment.  Meanwhile another person may think about the problem, address it or decide the positive outweighs the negative and moves on in one way or another.  There is no dwelling in the negativity of the problem.  They find a solution, act upon it and move on.

It doesn’t help to dwell in the negativity of problems.  Problems are a part of managing a business, any business.  But problems can be seen as opportunities.  Opportunities for growth, opportunities to try out new approaches and new solutions, opportunities for change.

Of course to see it in this way, does require a particular attitude.  That is the positive attitude.

Really it is a choice as to how we respond to events and situations.  Many times we can’t change the event itself but we can choose our response.  Naturally this requires practice and awareness but it can be done.

A positive mindset, not a naive one, can open and not close doors for your massage business.

Cultivate a positive attitude to help achieve massage business success.
