Dreams And How To Approach Dream Control

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Dreams to a lot of people are just some kind of movie that goes on in their heads when they sleep, that they seem to have little or no control over, while some are happy dreams there are other very dark dreams that are scary. It is nice to know though that we can actually achieve dream control and engage is something called lucid dreaming.

What exactly is lucid dreaming though? How can you start using dream control? Are there benefits associated with being able to sit in the director?s chair for your dreams? In this article, we?ll look at how dream control works and what it can do for you.

What Is Dream Control?

When we use lucid dreaming, we can use the ability of dream control. Lucid dreaming begins with the awareness that you are dreaming while you are in the middle of a dream. Once you know that you are actually dreaming, you can start deciding how the events of your dream will unfold.

People who suffer from nightmares frequently can find relief with dream control. Once they learn to use this powerful technique, they can banish their nightmares and get the restful sleep they need.

Common Ways of Bringing About Lucid Dreaming

Binaural audio is a new technology which has been proven effective in helping people to reach a lucid dreaming state. Binaural audio involves listening to two different frequencies simultaneously. When the listener hears these two frequencies, they begin to relax and their brainwaves synchronize with each other, which induces the REM sleep state which is needed for lucid dreaming and dream control.

Before the availability of binaural audio on CDs and DVS, the methods of choice for bringing about lucid dreaming were meditation and self-hypnosis; these are effective methods, but it can take a long time for people to master these techniques to the extent necessary to have lucid dreaming experiences at will.

Besides these methods, there are many other techniques which have been employed by experts in the field. Regardless of how one trains their mind to start using dream control, the idea in every case is to let the dreamer come to the awareness that they are dreaming and start to take control of their dreams.

This kind of metal training begins, of course while we are still fully awake. The aim is to give yourself a cue; either an action or a word which when performed in your dream, will serve as your signal that you are dreaming ? which lets you start exerting dream control.

You do this by just stating to yourself, before falling asleep, that very soon you will be in the middle of dreaming, and in a dream you are going to say a word or phrase, or act in a specific manner, that will let you know that you are in a dream.

This method of learning dream control was developed by scientist Dr. Stephen LaBerge and is known as MILD (sort for mnemonic induction of lucid dreams). This technique can let you control the course of events in your dreams ? you are only limited by your imagination!

A dream diary can also help you to get started with lucid dreaming. Immediately after you wake up, write down each and every detail that you remember from your dreams. After doing this for a while, you?ll train your mind to remember your dreams; this is the first step to dream control and soon you?ll start having lucid dreams!

When you know how to use dream control, you can dismiss your nightmares and have incredible experiences which would never be possible in the physical world ? you can go anywhere and do anything that your imagination can conceive!

Many experts agree however, that there can be a drawback to too much lucid dreaming, as with anything else doing with life, and that this can head towards the wrong results. It is always been a valuable thing to naturally dream, through it we learn many things about ourselves that would stay dead and buried otherwise. Have fun with your lucid dreaming. This is an unique experience just schedule yourselves some nights for normal dreaming too!

Dream Control Revealed

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

For most people, dreams are mysterious ‘mini movies’ that play in their minds while they’re sound asleep, seemingly without their control, with some being rather pleasant, and others, not so much. However, we now know that it is actually possible to make dream control a complete reality, bringing about what is known as lucid dreaming.

But is this actually real or is the reality of dream control or lucid dreaming just a myth? It it really is true then what are the benefits of it? And can anyone really achieve this state of being able to control everything that happens when you are dreaming?

What Is Dream Control?

Dream control, using lucid dreaming, means that not only are you fully aware that you are dreaming, but that you’re also able to control what happens during the dream. While totally asleep, you realize that what seems to be going on is actually a dream and you are solely in control of the events that play out as well as the final outcome.

For those suffering from frequent nightmares, this simple but powerful method may serve to be just the thing they need to finally enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

The Common Methods of Achieving Lucid Dreaming are:

Using binaural audio is a great way for reaching the lucid dream stage, through this you listen separate frequencies (in unison) for the purpose of getting the brain waves synchronized, which allows you to relax, and the stage where lucid dreaming is able to occur known as REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.

Before this use of modern technology was discovered and available on CDs or DVDs for the purpose of dream control, self hypnosis and meditation were the most widely used techniques for lucid dreaming, although many people report finding it too difficult to achieve this state using these two particular means of dream control.

In addition to these approaches to lucid dreaming, many other techniques have been developed over the years by those who are experts in the fields of both science and psychology. But, regardless of the initial method used, the main purpose is basically to train the mind, while asleep, to realize that it is in the midst of a dream.

To do this, we must, of course, begin while we are wide awake, with the key being to remember to do or say something in a dream, which will trigger the recognition necessary within the mind and allow us to then control what happens next.

It’s often a simple matter of telling yourself, just before going to sleep, that you will be dreaming soon and in that dream you will remember to do or say something specific, and when that happens, you will instantly realize that it is a dream.

In this method, particularly, dream control is known as mnemonic induction of lucid dreaming (MILD). This method was also discovered by a scientist call Dr. Stephen LaBerge, and with this method, your mind is in total control of what happens in the dream and its conclusion. There is nothing in your dream which can harm you, simply, it is all in your mind and you are in total control. The only limitations are in the scope of your imagination.

There is another way of reaching lucid dreaming and it involves making a dream journal or diary, do this by keeping a pen or pencil and a notebook of some kind by your bed so that you can jot down any information that you are able to recall in the moments right after you wake up. By doing this for several nights, you will begin to see that you are able to recall the facts you have jotted down and dream something similar but this time you will start to exert control over the events.

Tame monsters in your nightmares, ‘visit’ any location you wish, explore imagined worlds that you envision within your own mind, speak to anyone you like, and basically be free of all worldly constraints and limits. With dream control, all of this is possible, in essence, giving us the power to be the ruler of our own nightly fantasy worlds where we are in complete control of everything that transpires.

The experts say do that there is, however, one potential drawback to lucid dreaming, as much like anything in life, too much of a good thing can actually have the opposite effect. The main reason for this being that one of the most valuable aspects of dreaming ‘naturally’ is that it often tell us important things about ourselves that otherwise would have remained hidden forever. So enjoy dreaming lucidly. It really is an amazing experience, but remember to give yourself a few nights off!

Experiencing Dream Control

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Many of us think of our dreams as something which is largely beyond our control ? they happen while we are asleep, after all and whether they are pleasant dreams or nightmares, we shrug and assume there is nothing to be done to direct the course of our dreams. However, it is entirely possible to have dream control thorough the technique known as lucid dreaming.

What is the true meaning of the term lucid dreaming and in what way does it work? Are there any advantages, and is it truly a possibility for people to achieve control and make journeys nightly into the realm of dreaming their mini series of unique travels? This article will answer these questions that are very commonly asked on the subject of dream control.

Exactly What is Dream Control?

Dream control, (through the use of lucid dreaming), is your becoming aware of the fact you are in a dream state, and that you can actually control the happenings in your dream. As you are sound asleep, you recognize that the events you think are going on are actually dreams, and that you can control how the events transpire to even the ending.

Those who suffer from nightmares, especially recurring ones can get relief from these bad dreams by using dream control. Once they have learned this simple but powerful skill, these people can finally get the good night?s rest they so badly need.

Common Techniques For Inducing Lucid Dreaming

Binaural audio is a very effective method of inducing lucid dreaming. Binaural audio consists of two slightly different frequencies simultaneously ? this brings about the necessary state of relaxation and the synchronization of the brain waves needed for lucid dreaming to occur; namely, REM sleep.

Before it was possible to find CD and DVDs of binaural audio, the primary methods used to induce lucid dreaming were self-hypnosis and meditation. While these both work very well, it takes time to develop these abilities far enough to reliably gain dream control.

Besides using these methods for lucid dreaming, there are others that have been discovered through the years by qualified psychologists and scientists. It does not matter which method is used, the basic goal is the same, which is to train your mind as it sleeps to recognize when it is in the middle of dreaming.

To accomplish this, it takes us being completely awake it start, with the secret being the ability to remember to either say something or do an action in the dream, which will bring on the appropriate realization in your mind and permit you to control the next events happening.

This can be done by just telling yourself before you fall asleep that you will do something specific or say something in particular to tell yourself that you are dreaming. When you know that you are in a dream, you can begin reshaping the events.

This form of dream control training is called MILD (mnemonic induction of lucid dreams) and was developed by the scientist Dr. Stephen LaBerge. This mnemonic technique allows you to start using dream control to decide how your dreams will play out. Once you are lucid dreaming, there are no limits except for your own imagination!

Starting a dream journal can also help prepare you for lucid dreaming. Keep this by your bedside and as soon as you wake from a dream, write down everything you can remember from it. Once you have been doing this for a while, you?ll begin to start lucid dreaming ? remembering is the first step to dream control.

Chase away the bad guys in nightmares, travel to whatever location you desire, go to your imagined hideaways, talk to famous people if you want, and basically be unshackled by worldly concerns. Through controlling your dreams, you can accomplish this, it gives you the ability to be in control of your nightly dream world and all that happens there.

Experts warn though, that the one danger to lucid dreaming, is doing it too often can have adverse effects. The central reason being that dreaming naturally often informs us of critical things we would otherwise not know. Go ahead and have fun with lucid dreaming. It truly is an interesting experience, but always also let yourself have some times when you just dream regularly!

Night Time Thoughts During Lucid Dreams

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

When you are the director of your dream and you know that you are dreaming then such dreams are known as lucid dreams. In lucid dreams the dreamer is aware of each and every thing he does and he does things that he wants to do. He decides who the people in his dream are, what places in his dream are and what the ending of his dream is.

You can have all kinds of lucid dreams which range from mystery to fairytale to romance. The possibilities are endless and what ever you want can happen when you are lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreams are obviously better than the normal dreams because you hold the reigns in them. You are the actor and the director in them. Sometimes these dreams can be so lifelike that you might get confused that you are dreaming or awake. There are times you need to check that you are lucid dreaming or if what you are experiencing is real.

One simple test is to try reading something. In a dream the words you see will keep changing, making it impossible to read properly. This is a sure sign that you really are having a lucid dream.

You may be having a fantasy about someone you want to be with. This may be impossible in real life, but of course anything is possible when you are lucid dreaming.

You can change the dream so that what you want to happen is how it ends in lucid dreaming. By using your sub-conscious part of the brain that controls creativity and imagination to control your dream and picture how it would be if your dreams came true, a lucid dream can be a way to see that possibility.

Lucid dreams can be brought about by simple techniques. While your body rests and relaxes for another day, your mind can be conscious.

Learning how to have lucid dreams can take a lot of practice and some people may not be able to master it until they have gone through a long, slow process.

By jotting down notes as soon as you awake that describe the lucid dream, you will be better able to learn to recall scenes and characters from your dreams. Don’t worry if you can’t recall everything because lucid dreams often recur at some point so you will have another chance to finish jotting it down. With this technique your lucid dreams will give you reference material for dream interpretations or other things.

There are many writers who use lucid dreams to their advantage. They use it to plan their books and stories. They like to direct scenes and characters and even decide their endings by lucid dreams. Many people use lucid dreams to do what they can’t in real life. Maybe you want to travel the world or marry a handsome prince; you can do everything in your lucid dream. Many people even use lucid dreams to achieve their ambitions in the real world.

Recalling more each time you try. When you wake up during a dream, sit and try remembering everything about the dream. Once you do that, then go to bed again and then try returning to the point in the dream where you woke up and carry on dreaming from there. These dreams repeat often so more you recall the more vivid your dream will become.

If you wake before your normal time, let’s say you have a couple of hours to go; this is the easiest time for lucid dreaming. It may seem like you have been awake and thinking all the time, but you have actually been lucid dreaming.

Soon you will be surprised at how easy it really is to do. One short cut you can try is to use self-hypnosis; it can help prepare your mind to recall vividly your lucid dreams.

A recent development in sound technology can open the possibility for lucid dreaming to be possible. By stimulating certain areas of the brain, it has been proven to induce the dream state that is entered during lucid dreaming and can make it easier for you to recall your dreams.

Important Things To Understand About Lucid Dreaming.

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Conscious Dreaming is what is also known as Lucid Dreaming. When you are lucid dreaming, you are consciously aware of what you are dreaming about, even though your mind is within the dream. So, to put it more simply, when you are lucid dreaming, you are perfectly aware that you’re dreaming even as you are within the dream. So, unlike the usual dream, you are aware that you’re dreaming even as events in the dream are unfolding around you, which means that you can control those events.

The power of having complete control over the direction of your dreams is something straight out of metaphysical existence. Suddenly, all the limitations you ever felt in life just cease to exist.

So, you ask, can it really be that simple? Surely not every single common person who wants to can experience lucid dreaming!

In fact, lucid dreaming is not too difficult an ask. If you are determined to learn this powerful medium of expressing your inner desires, there are tried and tested ways of achieving this.

Now, this all starts with you being utterly clear about what it is you want to accomplish or achieve through lucid dreaming. Nobody knows but you. Whether you want some deep mystery solved, or whether for you this is a playtime thing, what matters is that you have your objective totally clear in your mind.

Once you have this, you can begin actually learning lucid dreaming. It begins with Dream Recall, or remembering a dream you had the night before. Only when you’re able to do this can you progress into learning actual lucid dreaming.

This can be a slow process, but success is achieved by maintaining a Dream Recall Register, or “dream journal”, where you write down your dreams in as much detail as you possibly can, especially upon waking. Slowly but surely, you will in this way train your mind to be able to remember even the minutest details of your dreams. You are subconsciously opening the doorway between day and dream, and this is the bridge you cross into lucid dreaming.

Many people have found that hypnosis can drastically reduce the time needed to prepare your subconscious mind to experience lucid dreaming. Often just one of two hypnosis sessions will allow you to consistently remember all of your dreams. Once this occurs your mind is then conditioned for lucid dreaming.

Now, you can get to lucid dreams more easily by simply going back to sleep a few hours before you intend to wake up for the day.

Another great way to have lucid dreams is to go back to sleep for a couple of hours after you wake up in the morning. These dreams are the closest to lucid dreams as they leave you wondering if they were actually dreams or your thoughts manifested in the form of a purported event.

You can easily set an alarm to go off a couple of hours before your scheduled wake-up time. And when the alarm sounds, just wake-up, switch it off, and go to sleep in order to enjoy lucid dreams. In this regard, it?s extremely useful to keep track of your sleeping patterns so as to discover the best time to have lucid dreams.

Lucid dreaming can actually help you fight sleeping disorders, like insomnia. Whenever you are struggling to sleep at the normal sleeping hours, you just need to tell your mind that sleeping equals lucid dreaming, and your mind will take care of all the thoughts that are preventing you from falling asleep.

More and more people are saying that binaural audios are giving them a faster, easier way to enter through the door of the realm of lucid dreaming.

Many people are finding that the most reliable and certainly quickest way, of having a lucid dream is by listening to binaural audios.

A slightly different sound frequency is played in each ear, which soon brings you to a state of complete relaxation. This resonates your brainwaves to the same frequency which allows lucid dreaming to occur.

Before the discovery of this system of binaural sound waves you could only achieve this level of relaxation by many years of meditation study.

By listening to binaural sound waves, particular when combined with hypnosis to prepare the subconscious mind, it is possible for you to experience lucid dreaming very soon after your first attempt.

Subconscious Mind Power Can Be Yours!

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Your mind is the key to worlds of untapped potential to improve your life. It’s the greatest tool you have to make a significant impact in your life, and mostly the power of your subconscious mind just does what it wants! The key is to get this under your conscious control.

Let’s look at an example of subconscious mind power, where you want to change the channel on the television. Chances are good that you have been in a place where you just picked up the remote and flipped the channel without thinking twice about it. You didn’t need to worry about the particulars of the action because you were very used to it, you knew what to expect and the action has become subconscious.

Your subconscious mind creates reactions within you that make you do the things you do. When you consciously take action to complete a task or do something you want to get done, that was using the power of your subconscious mind. Imagine what you could achieve if you had the power to direct your subconscious mind to generate conscious actions within yourself that helped you fulfill all the things you dreamed.

How can you really harness the power of your subconscious mind? If you can really do that, you are going to be living out your real potential. Too many people buy into the fact that there are nasty things living in the subconscious, and though we should definitely respect this as the truth, there are also things in there that can help us.

So we need to communicate with our subconscious mind to improve our lives. Many people feel that this is too complicated a task to undergo, but really it is simplicity itself by following a few simple steps. Just accept that Self improvement has to start with ‘thinking’ about it first.

When you are looking into how to harness the power of your subconscious mind, you’ll discover that one great tool to use is affirmation. Through affirmation, you are going to remind yourself of positive things to achieve your goals.

This is why it becomes important to train your mind to always look for the positive aspects of everything you do. By learning to utilize the power of affirmations to help reinforce your own subconscious power, you’re able to unlock large amounts of potential you never knew you had.

When you want to make sure that you are thinking positively, considered how great the rewards are going to be when you want to perform the task. You can also look in your mirror and tell yourself that you are the best person for this task and that the end result is going to be something simply stunning; this can make a huge difference to the work that you are doing.

You’re also able to change your habits through use of affirmations. You might want to stop smoking or learn to stop overeating or even feel more motivated about exercising more regularly. These affirmations confirm the things you want to your subconscious, which then creates the impulses that remind your conscious mind of the things you should be doing.

There are also other methods that you can use when you want to tap into the potential of your subconscious mind. You can use post-hypnotic suggestion this way and though it can require the talents of a skilled hypnotherapist, you can also use a pre-recorded hypnosis audio tape for just this reason.

You might also want to try brainwave synchronization or binaural beats. These are specially created sound frequencies you play through a set of headphones. The frequencies change so you hear different things in each ear. This can synchronize the separate sides of your brain which can allow you to descend into a deep meditation easily. You’re able to access your subconscious more easily in this state.

There is more research going on that might take this even further. Buddhist monks are reputed to have the ability to levitate or turn invisible, or withstand extremes of temperature far beyond other people, all through reaching into the power of their subconscious mind.

Some claim that the power of the subconscious mind lets us manipulate matter on a subatomic level. The leading proponent of this is ‘The Secret’. Less spectacularly, using the secret and positive affirmations have helped lots of people improve their lives in countless ways.

More traditional sciences, such as quantum physics, are beginning to recognize the significance of the power many ancient civilizations accessed by understanding their own subconscious minds. The ability to alter and influence your own reality comes from tapping the power within yourself.

Your ability to use the power of the Law of Attraction is vast, and capable of changing your life in dramatic ways. Never overlook the power of maintaining a positive mental outlook, and focusing on goals, and building a plan. The only constraint on what you can do is what you teach your subconscious mind to do!

Conscious Dreaming Secrets

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Lucid dreaming, also called conscious dreaming, is the process of being asleep while maintaining awareness of your dreams. While you’re in a dream state, you actually know that you’re dreaming. That can even allow you to control your dreams consciously.

Having complete power of control over your dreams may seem sci-fi or fantasy like and is readily possible for anyone to accomplish. It is quite easy to accomplish and offers you the ability to express your thoughts, feelings and desires in a tested method to get you to a state favorable to begin lucid dreaming.

To begin you need to think about what you want to gain. Do you want to have fun and live out your fantasies, or do you want to use lucid dreaming to help solve problems in your life. Maybe you are just curious about what the experience is like. It does not matter what your goal is as long as you keep it in mind and stay confident that you will achieve it.

After you define the reasons for wanting to learn to dream consciously, you can learn the steps to get your mind on the right level. You need to be in the right state of mind to be able to lucid dream. A good place to start is recalling your dreams. This means to remember any dreams you have had.

You need to remember the dreams you have every night in order to start conscious dreaming. Try to remember every detail. A good way to do this is to keep a journal of all your dreams. Keep it beside your bed and record everything you can recall about your dreams. Do this every morning when you wake up. Do not wait until later in the day as you may forget. The longer you are awake the more you forget about your dreams.

You will remember more about your dreams each time you write the information in the diary and you?ll also be able to use your dream to refresh your memory. Now your mind is primed to remember details of your dreams and being aware of your dreams has become easy. You may suddenly become awake and aware that what you dreamt is not real.

Hypnosis is another widely used method for lucid dreaming. It is a good way to get into the state of mind you need to begin lucid dreaming. A hypnosis session works quickly to help people to recall the tiniest details in their dreams. This can be done in only a few sessions. Once you have this level of dream recall, you are ready to proceed with conscious dreaming.

You may wake up suddenly when you are having a conscious dream in the beginning. This is not unusual. Go over the events in your dream as you drift back to sleep. If you focus on them hard enough, you will go back into the same dream and perhaps control the events and the outcome of them.

You can also use this method. Wake up several hours earlier than you would normally and then try slipping back sleep. This mode of sleep and dreaming makes it much easier to stay aware of what you are dreaming. You may not even be sure if you are dreaming or just lying awake in your bed thinking. By doing this on a regularly basis, lucid dreaming is much more likely.

Remember to pay close attention to your sleeping patterns. That will tell you when the best time is to have dreams of this type. Just remember not to short yourself on sleep too badly, since you’re less likely to have lucid dreams when you’re very tired.

However, good news. It has been found that lucid dreams have a positive effect on insomnia. By lucid dreaming, the effect is that it can teach your mind to close or shut down the distressful and bad thoughts which keep you awake.

It might seem like lucid dreaming is something you can only do after years of study, but that’s not really true. In just a little time, with a little work, you could become a conscious dreamer. Explore your own consciousness, manipulate your dreams and more!

Conscious dreaming is easy, and almost everyone can do it. Take a little time, and use one of these methods to unleash the power of lucid dreaming for yourself. You’ll be amazed at what you discover.

The Joys Of Being A Lucid Dreamer

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Many people want to experience a lucid dream. If you’re among them, the first thing you need to think about is how you want to go about learning.

You also need to think about exactly why you want to become a lucid dreamer. What are the benefits of dreaming lucidly? To help us find the benefits, let us first look at ‘normal’ sleep.

Before we look at lucid dreaming, think about normal sleep; you get into bed, close your eyes for a certain length of time, and either dream or just see black for a few hours and then wake up! It isn’t very interesting now is it?

Normal sleep is just a method of refreshing ourselves for the busyness of the next day. However, it could be a lot more interesting if you could control the period of time in which you’re dreaming.

What if rather than being an active observer, you can be the one who can lead your dream to be whatever you want, rather than your dream leading you? This is what a lucid dreamer is; someone who is in total control of their dreams; able to explore new worlds that are not bound to the physical, societal and time-space laws of the real world.

So if you want to become a lucid dreamer how do you do it? There are actually two ways. The first way is having a dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD), which is where the dreamer is in a dream and then realizes that they are, restoring their sense of consciousness within the dream.

The second method is called WILD, and stands for wake-initiated lucid dream. This is when you start out awake and fall asleep, but do not experience a change in consciousness levels. This is the process of simply entering a dream, the same way you’d walk through a door, instead of waking up inside the dream.

So, what

methods can you use to induce these kinds of lucid dreaming states?

Dream Recall

If you’re interested in lucid dreaming, dream recall is one of the most effective ways of learning to do it. Dream recall is the ability to remember your dreams. If you remember them, you’re more likely to be able to recognize them while you’re asleep. That’s because most of us have the same
dreams or dream elements more than once.

The best way to practice dream recall is through keeping a dream journal. This is a tool in which you write down whatever you can remember about your dream so you can recall it in the future. Do this right after you wake up - dreams are harder to remember the longer you wait.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This technique was developed by Dr. Stephen LaBerge, one of the lead scientists in the field of lucid dreaming. To use this method, just tell yourself about an object or element that you will remember. When you dream, there’s a good chance you’ll see this element, then realize that you’re dreaming.

To use this method, first go to sleep. Set an alarm beforehand to wake you up a few hours later (about five or six). Once you wake up, don’t go back to sleep. Read for a little while, or think about lucid dreaming for a while, then head back to sleep.

To use this process, go to sleep with an alarm set to wake you up five to six hours later. When you wake up, don’t go right back to sleep. Instead, do something else, like think about lucid dreaming or read a book, for about an hour. Then go back to bed.

Cycle Adjustment Technique

Cycle Adjustment Technique

This was created by Daniel Love, and what it is, is setting your alarm to wake you up an hour and a half before your normal time. Once you’ve adjusted to waking up early, alternate your alarm to wake you up normally and early. During times you are to wake up normally, you’re body will already be ready to wake up early, and therefore, you will be likely to be awake in your dream.

This method was mentioned above. To achieve a lucid dream using it, all that’s needed is keeping your mind awake while your body falls asleep. This is one of the most interesting ways of having a lucid dream. It’s as if you’re getting ready to watch a movie - you start in the real world, sitting on the couch, and turn on the television and press play when
you start to sleep). The screen begins black, just like when your eyes are closed, and all you need to do is wait for the movie or dream to start.

This method was described before. If you would like to achieve a lucid dream this way, all you have to do is to keep your mind awake while you body falls asleep. This is perhaps the most interesting way of entering a lucid dream. It is as if you are getting ready to watch a movie. You are in the real world, you sit on your couch, you turn on the TV and press play (starting to sleep), the screen is black (in the same way as when your eyes are closed), and all you have to do is wait for the movie to actually start.

A number of ways to stay aware are counting, imagine climbing or descending stairs, chant, control your breathing, count your breaths, and concentrate on relaxing the body from their toes to head. (This all falls under the term ’self hypnosis’.) It is best to do this when you are not tired, like in the afternoon.

In recent years, the advance of technology has brought us new devices to help us dream lucidly. These include strobe lights, dreaming masks, and other gadgets thought to assist with lucid dreaming.

Definitely the easiest and most reliable way of inducing a lucid dream however is by listening to binaural beats sound frequencies via headphones.

These work by synchronizing the two hemispheres of the brain and have the effect of almost instantaneously changing your brainwaves to the REM frequency needed for a lucid dream to occur.

Combined with the self hypnosis sessions and affirmations to prepare your subconscious mind beforehand, becoming a lucid dreamer is something that everyone can now experience!

Are you Interested in Learning how to Lucid Dream?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

If you are not quite sure what it is, Lucid Dreaming is actually pretty simple. Lucid Dreams are those where you are aware of the fact that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. How lucid exactly your lucid dream is depends on how much control you have over the events of the dream, how stable the dream is and how many of the events of the dream you can remember once you wake up from it.

The most remarkable factor about the amazingLucid Dream is the experience while dreaming. Just being able to identify and impact your dream is astounding. This means that you can direct your dream like a producer does a movie and you have no limits or budget dictating your creation.

Think about this for just a moment. Lucid Dreamingseems real – it feels, looks, tastes and smells like reality; but with the difference that you know it’s all a dream and that no matter what you decide to do, you’ll be safe. This is truly a virtual reality experience which is far beyond the capabilities of any computer in existence today.

There is an increasing number of people who are trying out the possibilities of Lucid Dreaming for themselves. Most of us have a Lucid Dream at some point or another; but just think how amazing it would be if you were able to Lucid Dream any time you wanted!

A Lucid Dream offers you the chance to have any experience you can imagine. You can meet and hang out with your favorite celebrities and historical figures, have erotic experiences, visit other worlds, speak with a long lost loved one; anything at all! There are no limits other than your imagination.

The ability to Lucid Dream regularly is one which it once took a very long time to learn. Many would spend months in training before they were able to have their first Lucid Dream – and for some, Lucid Dreaming stayed just out of reach no matter how much they tried.

So are there any simple ways of experiencing a Lucid Dream?

Some people report that certain foods can encourage Lucid Dreaming if consumed shortly before sleeping – Mustard, Orange Juice and dairy products among them.

Others swear by pickles, fish, ice cream and popcorn. They say that these foods lay the necessary conditions for Lucid Dreaming to occur; but keep in mind that these foods are also high in fat and salt, which isn’t going to help you to get a good night’s sleep.

Assistant Technology

New technologies can make it somewhat easier to experience Lucid Dreaming. There are devices which can help to stimulate you to have Lucid Dreams such as eyeshades and sleep masks which activate a LED when rapid eye movements are detected. This light reminds you that you are dreaming; letting you take control of the dream!

One of the most exciting developments in Lucid Dreaming comes to us from the world of audio technology. Audio researchers have discovered a process called binaural beats, in which different frequencies are played into each ear.

These binaural frequencies synchronize the hemispheres of the brain; by listening to these frequencies, the brain is helped to achieve REM sleep, the sleep state necessary for Lucid Dreaming.

If you have always wanted to experience Lucid Dreaming for yourself, binaural sound presents the quickest and easiest way to begin.

The Secret Life Of A Lucid Dreamer!

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Also called lucid dreaming, conscious dreaming is a state where you are aware that you are in the middle of a dream and can then start to control the goings-on of the experience. You can do anything that you can imagine while having a lucid dream, as soon as you understand that you are dreaming.

The idea of being able to do anything you want in your dreams is amazing to think about, but anyone can learn to do it. It is not hard at all to do and offers an outlet for living out your fantasies and releasing your hidden desires. You can learn step-by-step proven ways to achieve the state of lucid dreaming.

First, you have to know what your goal is; are you looking to be able to get more enjoyment from your dreams or would you like to use this ability to help you improve your life in other areas? Whatever the reason, decide what it is that makes you want to discover conscious or lucid dreaming.

Once you have a clear idea of your goals, you are ready to start practicing the techniques which lead to conscious dreaming. The first step for many is dream recall, which involves training yourself to remember you dreams in detail.

This ability is the best way to condition your mind for lucid dreaming. You can start by keeping a dream diary, which you keep at your bedside. Right away after awakening, write down each and every detail you can remember of your dreams of the night.

You will soon find you are remembering your dreams more clearly and in more detail. You can use your journal to help you remember more. Once your mind is used to remembering your dreams you are ready for the next step and that is to be aware you are dreaming. You may wake up in a dream so to speak but still know it is not real and only a dream.

Other than keeping dream diary, many find hypnosis helpful. Hypnosis can help you to quickly reach the appropriate state for conscious dreaming. In fact, hypnosis can help you to recall every detail of your dreams in only a few sessions! Conscious dreaming is easy once this is accomplished.

You may wake up suddenly when you are having a conscious dream in the beginning. This is not unusual. Go over the events in your dream as you drift back to sleep. If you focus on them hard enough, you will go back into the same dream and perhaps control the events and the outcome of them.

Another method which many find useful for inducing conscious dreaming is to wake up a few hours earlier than normal. Simply set your alarm about two hours early and then go back to bed after awakening. In these last few hours before you are accustomed to waking up, it is much more common to have lucid dreams. These dreams can be hard to tell from simply laying awake and daydreaming! This is a good way to begin conscious dreaming.

Watch your sleeping patterns closely. In this way, you will be able to tell what time is more likely to have this type of dream. Do not deprive yourself of too much sleep, as being extremely tired makes you sleep deeper and lucid dreaming is unlikely to occur in this stage of sleep.

Those afflicted with insomnia and other sleep disorders may be pleased to hear that conscious dreaming can help them to get a better night’s sleep – it makes it easier to clear away the worries which can keep you from getting to sleep at night.

It does not take years of research and practice to learn to control your dreams consciously. It can be done quickly and easily. With a little practice and work, you will be lucid dreaming in no time. Explore your own mind; control your dreams, and so much more.

In fact, conscious dreaming is something that everyone can do. Just practice and use these techniques to develop your own lucid dreaming abilities – you’ll find that it has a lot to offer.
