Smooth 6.75 Treadmill Review: The New Treadmill to Watch Out For

Smooth Fitness has launched another addition to its growing line of fitness machines and this Smooth 6.75 treadmill review aims to discover what’s there to be excited (or not) about this new treadmill. When it was introduced in November 2009, the 6.75 was said to be replacing the Smooth 6.45. So what has changed and what has not? Let’s take a closer look at the basic specs as well as the new features that this latest model has to offer.

A spin-off from the 6.45

For those who are using the Smooth 6.45, I’m sure you have found little to complain about in this treadmill. It is a powerful, solid machine that also bears the reliability that Smooth Fitness equipments are known to have. Well, if you liked the 6.45, then you’re bound to like the Smooth 6.75 even better.

As far as basic specs are concerned, the Smooth 6.75 retains the 20 by 60 inches walking surface which should already be ample space for most users, the quiet 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, the top speed of 12 mph, and a maximum incline of 15. As with its predecessor, the 6.75 can also hold a user up to 350 lbs, and is equipped with heart rate control and hand pulse grips.

New features added in the 6.75

This Smooth 6.75 treadmill review would be of little help if we didn’t explore the added features found in this treadmill. Two of the biggest improvements made are the dual-stage, soft-drop folding feature, and the built in deluxe sound system. The Smooth 6.75 being slightly smaller and lighter than the 6.45, and its new folding mechanism should be a great help for those who are particular about being able to fold and store the machine easily.

Other than that, the Smooth 6.75 is also equipped with a much bigger dual-color LCD display, cooling fans, and hand rail toggle adjustments for easier control of the speed and incline.

What you get for the price

So how much would you have to shell out to get all those features? The Smooth 6.75 is regularly on sale at 1,799 dollars. From its price tag alone, you can conclude that this treadmill is one of Smooth’s higher-end models. You’ll be sure to find a lower-priced model that can serve the same purpose, but for those who can afford to get a treadmill that comes with all the bells and whistles, this is a good choice.

And just like most Smooth Fitness treadmills, the 6.75 also comes with a product warranty that other treadmill manufacturers cannot easily match or beat - lifetime warranty for frame and motor, 5 years for electronic parts, and 2 years for labor.

Final thoughts

You may wonder if this treadmill has any drawbacks at all. As of this writing (Nov 2009), it’s too soon to tell, and that in itself may be the sole negative thing I can say about it for now - that it does not have a track record yet. However having closely studied its features and compared it with other older models, it looks like this treadmill can score big points with consumers and industry experts. So it’s a little expensive, but as this Smooth 6.75 treadmill review has mentioned earlier, the expense is worth it.
